1. Screw Feeders
Screw feeders are used to feed material out of a bin, silo or hopper at a constant feed rate. The feed rate of the screw feeders is controlled by controlling the screw feeder rotation speed. The screw feeder is designed for a specified volumetric feed rate and by adjusting the rotation speed of the flights, can the feed rate be controlled accurately. The screw feeders can be constructed as a single feed screw of multiple screws aligned side by side. Screw feeders are usually flooded with material and the feed need to be regulated by means of variable screw pitch, tapered flight screws curved cover plates, shrouds, or variable speed drives.
Typical dimensions of the screw feeders vary from 8” (200NB) to 24” (600NB) flight diameter. The standard length does not exceed 6 meter in length screw feeders. A variety of throughs and screw combinations can be supplied to suite specific application. A combination of screw feeders is also used as a unit for coarse and fine feed applications.
Typical applications:
-
- Front end Loader Feed Bins
- Live bottom feeders
- Filter press discharge chutes
- Wood chip feed bins
- Furnace feeders
- Boiler feed screws
- Feed bin feed and discharge systems.
- Loss in weight feeder systems.
2. Screw Conveyors
Screw conveyors, the oldest and simplest way of transporting material primary consist of a rotating screw and a stationary trough. The screw conveyor is compact and easily adapted for special applications whereby space is congested. Screw conveyors can be easily sealed against fumes and fine dust which makes it ideal to transport fine powders and hot materials. The screw conveyors can be manufactured with various materials and liners to resist corrosion, abrasion, and heat.
Typical dimensions of the screw conveyors vary from 8” (200NB) to 24” (600NB) flight diameter. The standard lengths do not exceed 6 meter to avoid hanger bearings in the screw conveyors. However longer lengths up to 24 meter is achieved with a series of offset screws.
A variety of throughs and screw combinations can be supplied to suite specific application. A combination of screw feeders is also used as a unit for coarse and fine feed applications.
Typical applications:
-
- Fume extraction baghouse hoppers
- Dryer hot material discharge
- Conveyor dribble chute screw conveyors
- General conveying of sized material.
3. Cooling Screw Conveyors
Cooling Screw conveyors are used to convey hot material up to 600 degree C whereby the material is cooled in the screw conveyor with clean water. The flights are designed to be water cooled together with the outside tube of the screw conveyor to provide a conveying and cooling system
Typical dimensions of the screw conveyors vary from 12” (300NB) to 20” (500NB) flight diameter. The standard lengths do not exceed 6 meters.
Typical applications:
-
- Dryer plants conveying and cooling screw feeders.
- Furnace fume extraction systems.
- Kiln discharge conveying and cooling systems.
4. Tubular screw feeders
Screw feeders are used in agricultural, water treatment plants, mining industry, power plants, furnaces and food processing plant applications whereby screw feeders are used to load and unload static and mobile systems. The tubular screw feeders are supplied with split housing for ease of maintenance and easy inspections. Horizontal and vertical screw conveyors available for specific applications.
Typical dimensions of the screw conveyors vary from 6” (150NB) to 20” (300NB) flight diameter. Standard lengths do not exceed 6 meters.
Typical applications:
-
- Agricultural discharge systems
- Vertical screw conveyors up to 3 meters.
- Incline screw feeders
- Rotating Incline screw feeders
- Screw feeders to unload mobile trucks and tankers.
- Conveyor belt tail cleaning systems.
5. Dewatering screw conveyors
Screw pumps were first developed by Archimedes and still today various applications are used to pump water. With the basic principles used, de-watering screw conveyors transport material over a screened surface whereby only the solids are removed from a system.
Typical dimensions of the screw conveyors vary from 10” (250NB) to 24” (600NB) flight diameter. The standard lengths do not exceed 6 meters.
Typical applications:
-
- Lime plant de-stoning systems
- Plant sump cleaning systems.
- General dewatering applications.
6. Supply of screw helical flights
The supply of various material and sizes of helical screw flites. All flights are profiled and bended to the required diameter and pith. The screw flights to be lined, coated or hard faces to customer’s requirements.
Typical dimensions of the screw flite vary from 6” (150NB) to 24” (600NB) flite diameter. The standard pitch must not exceed the diameter of the flight. Shaftless flites up to 25mm in thickness can be supplied.
